ExperienceAfter a wonderful time at in.house.media, I decided it was time to go it alone. In that time I’ve managed to help out a wide range of clients, including McDonalds Monopoly, Greenbank Associates, Chrome Carbon, and Yawt.digital.
I’ve also been involved in creating and creating several WordPress websites, these include: Genie Ventures and ABC Wood Flooring.
I joined as a Web Developer Apprentice. After the apprenticeship ended, I was offered a full-time position with the company. Immediately after finishing my apprenticeship I was the lead developer on 2 of the company’s top 3 clients. As part of the in.house.media team, I’ve assisted with developing websites, coding emails, running AdWords campaigns and managing SEO projects.
I have built custom eCommerce stores from scratch using Laravel, including guest and user checkouts and coding the email templates and systems as required.
I have integrated websites with payment Gateways such as SagePay, PayPal and Worldpay.
While I have used many different frameworks, Laravel is my go-to-favourite. I have created many different types of systems including front-facing websites and internal web apps.
I have created many different WordPress sites, both using the Elementor plugin, and custom coding themes from scratch. I also have experience creating custom plugins.
My main role was to assist in data migration between the company’s old system and the new IT system they’ll soon be implementing. To learn how to fulfill my role, I attended a SAP ERP implementation training session. I’ve spent most of my time creating report templates using Crystal Reports (a Visual Studio add-on); these are documents that pull data from a database and compile it into a report. To create more complex reports, I decided to teach myself basic SQL.
